Exploring contact through identities. With Yulia Bondar, Ieva Barsauskaite, Mili Marjanovic and Rinske Englander
In this experiential workshop we aim to practice making contact through differences, not by bypassing them and pretending they do not exist, or by simplifying them and thus objectifying each other, but by creating space and support for them to emerge.

About the event
In this experiential workshop we aim to practice making contact through differences, not by bypassing them and pretending they do not exist, or by simplifying them and thus objectifying each other, but by creating space and support for them to emerge.
This experiential workshop is an invitation to practice making and holding contact through differences, not by bypassing them and pretending they do not exist, or by simplifying them and thus objectifying each other, but by creating space and support for them to emerge, with awareness, together.
We will experiment with building capacity to co-create ground so that you can make safe enough choices when approaching these questions:
- How does the field influence my own identity?
- How can we keep being open to contact with each other despite holding seemingly opposing stances?
- What emerges when we are brave to hear each other?
- What supports contact to emerge?
- Are there situations when contact is not possible?
Training with NSG to become Gestalt therapists, Yulia Bondar, Ieva Barsauskaite and Mili Marjanovic were moved to create an additional space where they could explore something of the war affected, splitting field that they could sense in the training group, but could not quite name.
After engaging in a half a year long process, they published a paper in the British Gestalt Journal elaborating the process through which they engaged with each other.
Inspired by this work, they ran a workshop at the Gestalt conference in Madrid in September 2023, and are now excited to bring it back to Amsterdam, where it was conceived. This workshop will be co-facilitated with Rinske Englander, a coordinator and trainer at the NGS Academy.
Registration for the event is confirmed upon confirmation of payment.
General Entrance is €175, for Gestalt Students, €150.
Participants can cancell free of charge up to one week before the date of the workshop. Any later, the full admission fee will be charged.
